National Trends and Services

The VISION of the National Trends and Services facet is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service. Our MISSION is to effectively empower the communities in which we work. Our GOALS include increasing the number of sustainable and measurable programs; increasing collaborative partnerships; and extending our existing initiatives to include communities identified as having the greatest need.

Currently, National Trends and Services encompasses the following programs and committees with national partners and sponsors, each committed to the overall vision and mission of the facet. These programs serve as a catalyst for change promoting individual and community empowerment.  Our local chapter has decided to focus our resources on those organizations serving women and children.

To that end, we are supporting the following local women’s shelters: Casa Myrna Vasquez, which is New England’s largest comprehensive multicultural organization dedicated to the elimination of violence against women and children.  Women’s Lunch Place, which offers a day sanctuary, meals and support services for women experiencing homelessness or poverty.  In addition, our facet co- sponsored the Afro Flow Yoga and Mini Health Fair at the Martin Luther King Jr. School and we will participate in the Fit For the King Urban Field Day.
